The Community Center addresses the language skill needs of the immigrant population in Miami, particularly in the Kendall and Westchester areas. We are located in the heart of Miami, only a walking distance from Bird Road in the Southwest and a few blocks away from the populous Kendall Drive. Address: 10601 SW 48th St. Miami, FL 33165.
Our mission is to help immigrants improve and develop the necessary language skills to maximize opportunities in their new home-country. We are conscious of the changing demographics in our area and are committed to growing and serving to meet the emerging needs. The Latino community has grown rapidly over the last decade and we have been supporting them by offering English and Citizenship language courses in our center for the past seven years.
Program objectives include ensuring that our students can be immerse in the English language in order to promote a fast-pace learning experience. During the school year our donors sponsor qualifying students for tuition reimbursements, scholarships, and books. We procure engaging Latino seniors to enhance their motivation and quality of life.
We are pleased to partner with Sunset Adult Educational Center during the grant period.
TESTIMONIES
It's very important to know this country’s language. The American dream is real and depends on learning English. We thank TRFCC which opens the doors for this opportunity.
SALUD Y SONRISAS
I study English to be able to obtain employment and social opportunities in this great country. I thank God and this country for providing such an excellent teacher at TRFCC.
ESOL & CITIZENSHIP CLASSES
"Health and Smiles" in Spanish is our initiative to provide medical and dental care to those in need in the Americas and the Caribbean. We did our first mission trip to Nicaragua in 2017.
Leo Dorado and Silvia Hiriart began this initiative to be able to answer the call to medical and dental missions. We want to help the poor and needy of the Caribbean and the Americas bringing healing not just to theirs bodies but their souls.
English is a way for my family and I to succeed. Speaking only one language has limitations. I like the teaching method of the professor at TRFCC.
The Rock Family Community Center was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2011 by a group of community interested citizens with a simple, but robust mission: to help people in need. We do that by focusing on community-based efforts including education, awareness, and medical aid.
We want to protect and promote the welfare of individuals and families in our community by offering tools and opportunities for advancement and personal development.
Our vision is to assist members of immigrant and low-income communities adversely impacted by the absence of services and English-limited proficiency.
I need to speak, read, and write English to be able to have better communication skills in this beautiful country. Here at TRFCC we have an excellent professor and coordinator.
